Artist Testimonials

“Sharing art with the community, making connections and being part of something so magical. A truly wonderful experience that I have been able to enjoy for the past three years. Each year the trail grows and evolves into something more. Highly recommend any artist make the leap and apply.”

"The Toowoomba studio art trail has been such a positive experience for me. Being able to share what I love with all sorts of different people and having it appreciated was very gratifying."

“It is a great experience. I feel very humble when I get positive feedback from visitors who are grateful for the opportunity to visit artists’ studios. Visitors are generous in their appreciation of my work which is very affirming. It’s a bonus when work sells.”

"Loved to be able to be a participant in the 2024 Toowoomba Studio Artist Trail... The contact with everyday people who have an open heart for the Arts and it’s diversity of the unique Artist and their individual talents.. gratitude."

"The art trail was a great way to participate in the Toowoomba Community of Artists. The people who attended were there because they loved art, so it was very affirming to talk about my own arts practice, and to get feedback about what visitors wanted to see and what they loved about the trail."

“My first time on the art trail was a huge learning experience. It was great to share the experience with another artist in her studio. It was wonderful to talk art processes with visitors and encourage people to start or take up painting again.”

“It’s great to be able to showcase my Artwork and what I do to the community in this way. I enjoyed the interactions and conversations with visitors even more this year. And I appreciate the diversity of what the other Artists on the trail do too. I think that we make a good team.”

"A valuable exercise for developing a clientele and prospective commissions. Great buzz and fun to interact with people, unlike a a normal exhibition or showing of your work. People seem to like looking into an artist's creative space."

“The Toowoomba Studio Art Trail organisers, Jeanne & Cindy have created a wonderful visual art event for artists and art appreciators alike. Their dedication, organisation and promotion of this art event adds to Toowoomba’s creative culture. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the experience.”

“Being a part of the Toowoomba studio art trail really was a life changing experience for me as an artist.

The other artists on the Trail really encouraged and helped me have confidence that I could do it. It was a safe space for me to just have a go without fear of failure. I found that once I got over my fears, I started to absolutely enjoy the process.

The joy I felt whilst making became visible in my finished work. I learned to let go and I dared to have fun. Once I did this, a funny thing happened: my work improved so much! The other artists on the trail were always there for guidance and happy to answer my questions. There’s been an incredible sense of community with other artists, we’re all so different but we share the same spirit. Everyone just supports each other. I can’t wait for the next one!”

"I have found the trail to be an excellent opportunity to interact with other artists and members of the public. Some awesome conversations were had and lots of contacts made and inspiration gained."

"I love meeting all the visitors, they were so thankful to have the opportunity to visit our studios and the variety of artists that participated.  They also loved the variety of media presented in my studio and willingness to share my knowledge with others."

"What a fabulous experience! I loved welcoming people into my studio, talking about my art practice, demonstrating my technique and making a bit of money too! Can't wait to do it all again."

“My choice to apply for the Toowoomba Studio Artist trail was to participate with a group of like-minded people who have a passion for creating. On this my second year I was able to feel more at ease to prepare my home studio for public view. The whole process is well supported by the Team Leaders and other participants.

While there is an edge of vulnerability in opening the space for public view the benefits are significant. Planning and structure is not always an artists’ best attributes. In saying that, I have found the challenge to be an inspiration better by presenting myself as a productive and creative artist. Connection is a vital component in being authentic. Go with grace and gratitude.”
